  • Helen Clifton - Eb Bass

    Helen Clifton

    Position: Eb Bass

Helen started playing tenor horn at the age of 11. It was a couple of years before she answered the calling to play tuba. Throughout her school life she played in various brass, concert and wind bands. During her time at university playing full time was difficult but she kept playing up at various times with Portsmouth city brass band, Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass, Wirral Brass Ensemble and a brief stint at Shirley Brass Band. When she moved to Northampton she started playing for Moulton 77 Brass Band and shortly afterwards, Boobs and Brass. In 2017 she joined MK Brass.

  • Tim Flach - Eb Bass

    Tim Flach

    Position: Eb Bass

Tim started playing for the Suffolk fire service band in 1978 on the front row cornet section and he still has the original Vincent Bach cornet he first bought and played on in his collection of instruments today. Tim moved to Milton Keynes, and after trying out a number of bands and orchestras, joined the newly formed Mk Brass (then Broseley Brass), just before the band was a year old where he met his future wife who played 3rd cornet. Tim has had a varied playing career moving instruments and bands but has returned to MK Brass. He has played cornet, flugel horn, baritone, horn, euphonium, trombone and currently sits on BBb bass. Tim does not envisage moving instruments again! He loves the band ‘family’ and enjoys rehearsals and public performances alike.
