Dreaming of Christmas

Saturday 9 December saw the much anticipated joint concert between MK Community Choir and Milton Keynes Brass partly due to interference from Covid and a broken heating system which saw the concert postponed.

The concert started with the choir singing Deck the Halls, Love Sings and Mary had a Baby. Then followed a set by the band which included the march Shinning Star, an atmospheric Carol of the Bells and finishing with Kingdom Triumphant. The next set was with the choir and the first number featured the soloist Bethany McLeish singing a Breath of Heaven followed by three more crowd pleasing numbers by the choir ending with Can You Feel the Love to take us into the interval.

MK Community Choir opened the second half and had a great audience participation item with Christmas Round. Their set concluded with Bethany McLeish and Christmas Joy - stunning!

It was the bands turn again with some more Christmas themed music with A Christmas Carol, Do You Hear What I Hear? 3 King Swing with a great jazz solo and closing with the fun piece Santa Claustrophobia!

To conclude the concert there was a joint set with the choir and the band with Stop the Cavalry, Bethany McLeish joining for O Holy Night, the audience for Hark the Herald and the concert finished with the classic A Christmas Fantasy.

Great concert, great audience. Hopefully to be repeated in the not too distant future.
