Trophy haul for MK Brass

Back in October, we competed at the Bolsover Brass Festival contest. We won the 1st Section and our Flugelhorn player, Dave Lewis, also won the best soloist prize for his spine-tingling playing during 'Lament' from Peter Meechan's 'Macbeth'.

The band have picked up quite a selection of trophies since contesting started again last autumn.

Back in October, we competed at the Bolsover Brass Festival contest.

We won the 1st Section and our Flugelhorn player, Dave Lewis, also won the best soloist prize for his spine-tingling playing during 'Lament' from Peter Meechan's 'Macbeth'. And to top it off, we also won the prize for the best percussion section. Quite a day!

At the end of October, we then moved on to Wychavon Contest, finishing a very credible 3rd place out of 9 bands competing in the 1st Section.

The competitions started again in March with us winning the MK Festival on Saturday 12 March.

We competed in the London and Southern Counties 1st Section competition the following week, playing Spectrum. 15 bands competed and we finished in 3rd position, narrowly missing out on an invitation to the National Finals.
