Happy Birthday Concrete Cows!

The band have had some interesting and unusual bookings in recent years (check out “Good Morning Milton Keynes” for the Festival of Creative Urban Living in 2019 video below) and when we were asked to play for the anniversary of the unveiling of the Concrete Cows in 1978, our first reaction was “Pull the UDDERone!”.

We weren’t quite sure what to expect but with the Concrete Cows being such a landmark for Milton Keynes, we said yes and met at the Milton Keynes Rose where a pillar commemorates the occasion, and cucumber sandwiches were served once again. We kicked off the events with “Happy Birthday to MOO” and then the smaller group of players continued with light-hearted popular music. We were joined by the Mayor of Milton Keynes, a folk trio, and Donny and Mooey.

There was face painting, poetry and salsa dancing and it is fair to say that all involved were very MOOVED. We don’t want to MILK it, but we’re expecting this to become an annual event so keep diaries free for the first weekend in September 2023.
